๐Ÿ“œ NEW TAX REGIME โ€” DAY 2

UP’s massive business ecosystem โ€” from Noida’s IT parks to Lucknow’s commercial district to Varanasi’s silk trade โ€” is now operating under the new Income Tax Act, 2025. The AI chatbot Kar Saathi is available for guidance, and the redesigned Website 2.0 is helping taxpayers navigate the transition.

Key impact on UP:

  • Simplified filing for lakhs of small businesses across the state
  • Digital-first processes reduce visits to tax offices
  • Freelancers and gig workers in Noida’s tech ecosystem benefit from streamlined compliance

โœˆ๏ธ NOIDA AIRPORT โ€” COUNTDOWN TO FIRST FLIGHT

PM Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport at Jewar on March 28. Following DGCA approval, commercial flights are expected to begin by mid-April โ€” just two weeks away.

Around 10 cities including Lucknow, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dehradun, and Hubli will get direct connectivity. Initial operations expected from IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air.

The airport, developed at โ‚น11,200 crore with a capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (scalable to 70 MPPA), will make UP the first state in India with 5 international airports.

๐Ÿ’ป TRUMP TARIFFS THREATEN NOIDA’S IT CORRIDOR

Today’s tariff announcement has the Noida-Greater Noida IT corridor on edge. The US is India’s largest IT export market, and reciprocal tariffs could impact service contracts, project billing, and new business acquisition.

Major IT companies with significant Noida presence โ€” including HCL Tech, Infosys, and TCS โ€” are monitoring the situation closely. The Noida Entrepreneurs Association has urged the Centre to negotiate sector-specific exemptions.

๐ŸŒก๏ธ WEATHER: HEAT RISING

IMD forecasts temperatures crossing 38-40ยฐC across western UP and Delhi-NCR this week. The March wet spell is over. April is expected to bring typical pre-monsoon heat with occasional dust storms.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ ELECTION UPDATES

Political activity continues at fever pitch:

  • SP’s Akhilesh Yadav building on his Dadri rally momentum
  • BJP focusing on development narrative โ€” Noida Airport, highway projects
  • Election Commission has banned exit polls from April 9-29
