Third person, pregnancy doubts, drug use: New twist in Twisha Sharma death case as CBI intensifies probe

In the latest development in the Twisha Sharma death case, the Central Bureau of Investigation discovered that a third person might be involved in the dispute. The team claimed that a person named Amit knew Twisha and might be connected to the case.

Suspicion Towards Wife

During the interrogation, Samarth Singh revealed that he was shocked to discover Twisha’s pregnancy. The two had been having sexual intercourse using birth control precautions. Singh felt that it was nearly impossible for Twisha to be pregnant with his baby. This suspicion further deteriorated their marital life.

What Did Doctor Say?

The CBI team revealed that the Bhopal couple consumed chemical drugs. The doctor, therefore, recommended they abort the child, as it may have serious effects on the unborn baby.

Investigating agency officials continued questioning the accused mother-in-law, retired district judge Giribala Singh, and Samarth separately at the CBI office on Saturday. The initial questions focused on the events of the first day.

Giribala’s Statements

Giribala explained her decision to send Samarth away, citing his intoxication and her fear. On May 12th, Twisha’s body was found hanging from a noose at her in-laws’ home in Katara Hills, Bhopal. Her parents have filed charges of dowry death and harassment.

Forensic Examination, Video Clip

The CBI will also conduct a forensic examination of the belt that Twisha is said to have used to hang herself. Experts will test how much weight the belt could bear.

The Bhopal police had earlier created a 34-minute-long video of the entire incident, which acted as major evidence in the case. The video recording assisted the agency in understanding the actual situation at the scene and verifying several facts.
