Hyderabad: A young woman IPS officer conducted a late-night operation and exposed several illegal activities and violations allegedly taking place at a popular pub in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area.

On Sunday, Riti Raj, a 2018-batch Telangana cadre officer serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Kukatpally, personally led a discreet inspection before police carried out a surprise raid on the Kings and Queens Pub, popularly known as Club Masti.

The operation was launched after the DCP received specific information that large-scale irregularities and illegal activities were allegedly taking place at the establishment.

Instead of sending only her staff, Riti Raj reportedly entered the premises herself, posing as an ordinary customer. She personally observed the activities inside the pub and, after assessing the situation, alerted police teams, who then carried out the raid.

Officials found that the pub was operating beyond the permitted hours and was allegedly involved in several violations. During the inspection, authorities identified multiple breaches of regulations and initiated action against the management.

Police teams arrested nine individuals, including the pub manager, during the operation.

Known as a strict and efficient officer, Riti Raj had previously served in several important positions before taking charge as DCP of Kukatpally. Her earlier assignments included handling cybercrime-related responsibilities and serving in key posts within the Madhapur zone of Hyderabad’s Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

She had also led the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the case involving Bandi Bhagirath Sai, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
